Six Months

6 months down, 6 more to go! I sound excited, but it's very bitter sweet.

At 6 months:
*Weighs 14 lbs 12 oz
*26 inches long
*She is apparently a smart cookie. After playing with her for only a minute or so, her pediatrician said she is off the charts as far as her intelligence goes. She said her focus and the way she interacts with adults is amazing. She also interacts with books and music and she said as long as she applies herself in school, she is likely to be top of her class. Not sure how she got all that in our short visit, but we will gladly take that news.
*Got to go to Disneyland and did so good!
*She's starting to really pay attention and get into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She loves when it's on.
*She got to meet her Uncle Jared!
*Learned how to roll over.
*Went swimming for the first time and loved every second of it!
*Went to the beach for the first time and didn't love it so much. It was freezing, we all only lasted an hour.
*She eats about 2-3 meals a day. Has tried peas, zucchini, bananas, sweet potatoes and apples. Bananas are her favorite so far!

***Hi baby! You are so beautiful, I can't even take it sometimes! You have the sweetest spirit to go along with those looks. Daddy and I always talk about how sweet you are. You hardly fuss unless something is wrong, and even then you are just so nice to us. You are so much fun as well and we love spending all our time playing with you and watching you learn and grow. We love you!

Grandma and Grandpa Great

Saturday morning, my mom, aunt, sister, Kaia and I went down to visit my grandpa who passed away last summer. We went to put flowers and an Easter card there for him. I miss him so much and think about him all the time. After that, we went to visit my grandma (Grandma Jean) at her work and have lunch with her. I had only visited her at work once before, but I was a lot younger. So she wanted to take me on a tour of her facility and show Kaia off to all her co-workers. It was so cute to watch her show Kaia off. She would introduce us all, then say "and this is my great granddaughter Kaia Jean!" I love my grandparents so much and am so grateful for them.

Just hanging out with all the nurses.

Five Months

I cannot believe I have a 5 month old! She is getting so big so fast!

Eating rice cereal pretty much went like this...Smiles

A bite

And an unsure face.

Then smiles again! What a big shot!

She's over it.

At 5 months, Kaia...

*Started rice cereal and did great! She took that spoon like she had been using it forever! And she kept opening up for more.
*Started using a sippy cup to go along with rice cereal and loves it!
*Is almost rolling over. She almost did it yesterday all on her own, but mommy still needs to help her.
*She started sleeping in her crib at night. We would put her in there for some naps, but at night she was in our room in the pack n play. She has been doing great so far! But I miss her like crazy!
*Still sleeping through the night! Goes to bed at 8 and wakes up around 6:30-7am.
*Might be teething. I could have sworn I saw a tooth a few nights ago, then it disappeared right after. We heard from a friend that the tooth can sink back down. We will see, but both Trevor and I can see something going on at times.
*Getting longer! She's growing out of her clothes, but is still in mostly 0-3 and some 3-6 month clothes.
*Her hair is really coming in and is still so blonde.
*Eyes are still a beautiful blue!
*She's just a little beauty and keeps getting cuter!

***Oh my Princess, if you only knew what you mean to me. You make mommy and daddy so happy each and every day. You are getting so big and it makes us sad to see you constantly growing and changing, but we love being there with you to watch you grow into the little person you are. I love you so much!

Easter

We loved celebrating Easter this year with our little love bunny! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, compliments of Trevor, got ready for church, had a great Sacrament meeting and had dinner at Trevor's moms. I love getting together with family on holidays. And Kaia looked so cute! Trevor actually picked out her dress on his own while I was out of town last summer...he did good!

Getting Wild!

We got ourselves passes to the San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park this year and we have been so excited to put them to use! We went to the Wild Animal Park on Kaia's 4 month birthday and had so much fun celebrating and seeing how she reacted to everything. It was a HOT day and she got pretty wrestless, but did very good most of the time.

She's big stuff!

Grandma came too!

Looking at daddy's favorite animals...elephants!

This baby giraffe got right up to her! It was so cute to watch them stare each other down.

My loves!

I can't wait to go more throughout the year as she gets bigger. Fun times await us!

Four Months

My 4 month baby doll just keeps on getting bigger! And so cute!

*Starting to get such a hearty giggle and we love it.
*Moved up a diaper size and it made me so sad :(
*Finally got her bedtime at 8:00 and sleeps until about 7 or 8 am.
*Had her first trip to the zoo!
*Still wears mostly 0-3 month clothes, but is in that awkward transition between 0-3 and 3-6 month.
*We've been practicing rolling over...it's a work in progress.
*Getting much better at tummy time, but still doesn't like it.
*She was talking so much, but this month she went on a talking strike. Her voice is finally coming back.
*She is so playful and responsive now. It's so much fun to play with her.

***Hi baby! You are the sweetest baby and you just keep getting sweeter. I fall more in love with you every single day. I love you!
