Baby Morin is a........

I have got a lot of catching up to do, so here I go...please bare with me. About 2 months ago, Trevor and I decided to check out this place called New Life Ultrasound. They are a 3d/4d ultrasound facility where they are able to tell the gender at only 14 weeks! I had heard so many great things about this place and that their accuracy rate was in the high 90's. I, of course, made Trevor take me! I was all about going just to see if they were able to give us their prediction. We went in with the mind set of "Let's see if they are able to tell us and see how right they think they are, but we will hold off on major shopping and announcing to the world until it's confirmed at a later appointment." So in we went. After only a few minutes of looking, the ultrasound tech said, "ok, one more look from me, and I will write what it is." A minute later, she slowly writes "It's a g.i.r.l."!!!! I was shocked to say the least. I thought all along it was a boy. For one, the Morin side of the family only produces boys and second, I never got sick once! Plus I just had that gut feeling. Well was my gut feeling wrong. The night before, Trevor said he had a strong feeling it was a girl...I guess the daddy's intuition is stronger than the mommy's. I was thrilled though, I started crying once I saw the g.i.... I secretly hoped it was a girl because I thought I'd never get one being married to a Morin. I was probably one of their most annoying clients because I kept asking if they were sure and how sure they thought they were. She said they aren't allowed to say they are 100% positive, but with me she gave a 99.9% and said I am set to shop. After, we stopped by Babies R Us and bought just a couple girl things to make it seem more real. It was such a fun day, but in the back of our minds, we still wanted to hold out until the 20 week ultrasound.

So then......we had our BIG ultrasound this past Monday. I was already at 22 weeks, so a little behind at getting it done and it was confirmed that indeed, we are having a girl. Did I mention this girl is a wiggle bug? Every ultrasound we have had, the tech has something to say about how much our baby moves...and we have had a different tech everytime. This one though, this girl would not hold still. We were only able to get a couple shots because she wouldn't be still long enough to get one. I think she is dancing up a storm and just practicing away! Here are the 22 week pics:

 Big Foot!

She is so much bigger than the last time we saw her! It's so fun to see! I am getting pretty large as well. I exploded within just 3 weeks. I went from 0-60. It's hard to see the scale go up in numbers, but I'm glad to know she is big and healthy.

And last, she has a name!!! We pretty much had our names picked out before we even got married, but we were still tossing some ideas around. But, it was decided that her name shall be.......                        
                                                    Kaiana Jean Morin

and we will call her Kaia for short. I have wanted that name ever since I can remember. And Jean is my dear grandmothers name, whom I love so much! Now it's on to some serious shopping and personalized gifts!

Bundle of Joy!

So, we left for our cruise on a Sunday afternoon and the next morning we were surprised to find out that we were going to have a baby!!! We took multiple tests throughout the week thinking that maybe it was a fluke. We weren't really going to believe it until the Dr. confirmed it. I mean, sure those tests are accurate, but we wanted real confirmation. It sure did make for a fun cruise knowing that inside me was our sweet baby. While waiting to exit the ship, we decided to call the doctor and they were able to get us in that afternoon and sure enough, it was confirmed!

We couldn't wait to tell our families. Trevor talked about wanting me to get into scrapbooking, so on the ship were scrapbook packages you could buy for the cruise. Then we decided to tell our families that way. We threw it together in a couple of hours and showed our families. They were just looking at pictures of the cruise, then the last page was all about baby! Green and yellow, with baby things everywhere and pictures we had taken of the tests and baby Mexican clothes we found. Everyone seemed pretty excited about it, although it took them all a good few minutes to figure it out.

I am 10 weeks today and couldn't be happier! We had our first ultrasound a few days ago. We weren't able to hear the heartbeat because the sound on the machine was broken, but we could see the heartbeat. The doctor kept trying to fiddle with the machine to try and get sound, and baby started moving like CRAZY! Arms and legs were flying everywhere! We were all so shocked at how active it was...I'm in for a treat when I can start feeling it in a few months. It was one of the best days, seeing our baby for the first time and knowing it was developing nice and healthy. One of the best things is, the ultrasound picture actally looks like a baby! You can clearly tell that it's a baby, and not a gray shadow looking bean like I'm used to seeing on others. We are just so thrilled about this and can't wait to welcome our sweet baby due November 15th, that's right, it's joining the birthday bunch! I just hope that we can welcome our baby into a home of righteousness and that we can do all that we can to raise our child in a way that's pleasing to our Heavenly Father. But, I have no worries, Trevor is going to be such a great father to our children and it makes me so happy knowing that he will be there for them to give them blessings when needed or asked and to be the patriarch of our home.


We've pretty much decided on names, but are still tossing some girl names around and will hopefully find out the gender in 6 weeks. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

One Year

My wonderful, handsome husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary this last Sunday. This year just flew right by us, but it's been the most amazing year of my life, full of love and surprises. I can't wait to see what's in store this year, it's already a life changing one for the both of us. One year down, Eternity to go!!!

Viva Mexico!

Trevor & I decided last minute to book a cruise to celebrate our anniversary. We went the beginning of March & enjoyed a fabulous 5 night cruise to Cabo. Because it was booked so last minute, we didn't really have time to anticipate it, which made it so much fun when it was time to go. We had a BLAST & want to make it a goal to go on a cruise once a year, but next time with some friends or family. We just wanted to make sure we enjoyed it one time by ourselves, which I'm so glad we did. It was the best to spend that time together without having to worry about work & such. Especially because the first morning of the cruise, everything changed. (More in later posts). But, I will say that we are absolutely ridiculous. We spent so much time in our room looking at pictures & watching videos of Khan. Words cannot even begin to describe how much we missed him. As good as vacations are, it is nice to be back home and enjoy our Khan again.

It's Gone!

Ever since we got married, Trevor has "suggested" (highly suggested) that I cut my hair short. I always had short hair when I was younger & I HATED it! I had a thick short bob with super thick bangs, a unibrow, a cubby face & I was always dark, so I just felt like a big brown blob! Once I was able to grow my hair out, I did & I always had long, long hair. I swore I would never cut my hair short again! Oh, the things you do for love... Last week I chopped about 10 inches of my hair off! It wasn't supposed to be that much, she cut about 3 inches more than I wanted. I was very sad the first day, but I got over it quickly & I am loving it! Andrea Dowden (who cut it) knows what she's doing! I am just a long hair person, I prefer long hair on me, & I love how it looks on others. I am just trying to embrace it & have fun with it. I told Trevor I did it for him & he better enjoy it while it lasts, because it will be long again & long it will stay!!!

First Christmas!

I have been anxiously awaiting this time of year since we got married. I could not wait to experience our first Christmas together: the music playing all around, decorating the house, the smell of pine and the fireplace going while watching Chritmas movies. It just sounds so perfect! Well, it wasn't so perfect at the start. I was asked to play Mary for our Stake Christmas Celebration in which I was told I would be singing and not acting. It turned out to be all acting and NO singing. I'm not one to act, and rehersals got pretty stressful, especially since we hardly had any time to put it together. The spirit was never felt at rehersals, which made it hard, especially with people having high expectations of us and we weren't reaching them. To make it even worse, I came down with the flu and was also asked to "audition" for a teaching position at a dance studio a day in advance. Crazy busy and stressful weekend it was, but after all was said and done, I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to portray the mother of the Savior and to be part of such a spiritual experience for all those who came. And I also got the teaching job! After this was all over, we were finally able to enjoy our first Christmas.

 I was so excited to get so many Disney movies. I literally started crying while opening them.

 We spent the rest of the day at Trevor's moms. I LOVE  my adorable nieces and nephew and I love this face!

I was so spoiled this Christmas! I got so many fun things including a Wii and a bread maker, along with many other things. And it was so fun getting things for Trevor. I can't believe it's come and gone, but now it's time to get ready for 2011!
